A history of the Bromley, Goromonzi, Melfort and Ruwa districts in Zimbabwe

A Harvest of Memories is the work of the residents, past and present of the Bromley, Goromonzi, Melfort and Ruwa districts. Much of it is unresearched and unverified, and is based on memory only. Memory, as some of us older contributors know, has a habit of playing tricks on us, therefore the reader may spot some errors and the odd contradiction. The book would never have been completed without the commitment and drive of Betty Sugden and her helpers, and it would have never have survived its birth pangs without the contributions of so many people, to whom we are all most grateful .
The book has been written for all those who live or have lived in this area, and for those who will follow. It is also for those who are frequent visitors to the area and who know and love it, and its people.
Elizabeth Shearer, (Editor) November 1999
