The 1998 cricket tour, accompanied by Paul Davis and the rector Mike Bawden is described above. I am sure that the boys would appreciate your support at any of the matches in your area. More important, though, is the game against the Petreans on
Shiplake College is on the A4155 between Henley-on-Thames and Oxford. Impossible to miss. If you can't make a decision until the last moment then please come along anyway.
Peterhouse currently boasts four Zimbabwe schoolboy players so it is essential that we field a strong side to avoid being humiliated. We therefore appeal first and foremost to those who were First XI players in their time and haven't lost their eyesight, or those who are playing fairly regular club cricket at present. We are especially keen to hear from (amongst others) Jonathan Mills, Tom Grove, Pat Brown, Dave Sherwin, Simon Pullar, and Ian McFadyen. Andy Mills will be skippering the Petrean XI and we hope for once to have the luxury of being able actually to select a side.
So far we have raised 384 pounds to help the tour. We would like to raise at least that again and pass the 1000 pound mark if possible. If you haven't already done so then please consider making a donation large or small. We will probably use the money to buy cricket balls or kit, put some towards the squad's transport costs and let them use what is left for spending money or whatever. Again please contact Mike Paterson at the address below.
If you can help out in any way, cash donations are always welcome then please get in touch with Mike Paterson. UK Petrean Secretary
